Can not Buy Me Love ( German Can not buy me no love ) is a song by British band The Beatles, released on the March 16, 1964 in the U.S. and on 20 March 1964 in the UK as a single and immediately to the number-one hit. On the B - side of the single is the song You Can not Do That.

History

The title was taken largely on January 29, 1964 in the " Pathé Marconi Studios " in Paris. Producer was George Martin. The Beatles were part of a 18-day exposure to the "Olympia" in the city. It was the first and only time that the band has recorded outside of the UK. The recording of Can not Buy Me Love was the recording of the two German versions of the songs She Loves You and I Want To Hold Your Hand ( She loves you and Come give me your hand ) preceded it. Anthology

As part of the Anthology series, an alternative version of the play has been published. They chose it from the second version of the four recordings of 29 January 1964. This version differs by a more blue -oriented vocals of McCartney and through the existing backing vocals here which came from John Lennon and George Harrison.

Cover versions

  • Ella Fitzgerald recorded the song in 1964 in their repertoire. He appeared on their live album Ella at Juan -Les-Pins, as well as on the studio album Hello, Dolly.
  • Tom Jones recorded the song and it has been published in his version on numerous compilation albums.
  • The Supremes took him to live for her album A Bit of Liverpool.
  • Michael Bublé sang the song in 2005 to a big- band arrangement of John Clayton and David Foster. It can be heard on his album It's Time, and in a live version on Caught in the Act.
