Canon of Dutch History

Canon van Nederland ( German: educational canon of the Netherlands ) is a string of fifty strands of information summary of the history of the Netherlands for the school.

The educational canon, was commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science under the leadership of Frits van Oostrom, a literary scholar at the University of Utrecht and presented on 2 July 2007 the public as " educational canon for all Germans". It comprises three volumes in a volume of 320 pages, a graphic wall map in different sizes and an interactive website.

As of August 2009 should also be received in the Dutch curricula of primary and secondary schools of the canon. On the basis of fourteen guidelines provide fifty chronologically ordered issues an overview of the history of the Netherlands and at the same time decide on the content of school history teaching.

From the Working Group, the Foundation has entoen.nu developed under the direction of Hubert Slings, which provides the information available and operates the website.
