Canton of Aire-sur-la-Lys

The Canton of Aire -sur -la -Lys is a French administrative unit in the arrondissement of Saint- Omer in the Pas -de- Calais and in the Nord -Pas -de- Calais; its chief town is Aire -sur -la -Lys. Representatives of the General Council of the department since 2008, Jean -Claude Dissaux.

The Canton of Aire -sur -la -Lys is 11,570 acres ( 115.70 km ²) in size and has (2006) 23 759 inhabitants, which corresponds to a population density of 205 inhabitants per km ². He is on average 38 meters above sea level, between 16 meters in Aire -sur -la -Lys and 116 meters in Therouanne.
