Caraga (Davao Oriental)

Caraga is a metropolitan area municipality in the province of Davao Oriental and is located on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. It has 36 912 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 17 barangays. It belongs to the first class of income communities in the Philippines and but is considered more rural community.

The municipality of Caraga is located on the east coast of the island of Mindanao, about 84 km north of the provincial capital, Mati City, 254 east of Davao City and is accessible via the coastal road from there. The municipality covers an area of 642.89 km ² and the terrain is valid until the coastal strip as very mountainous.
