Carinthia Statistical Region

Koroško (Slovene Carinthian statistična regija ) is a statistical region in Slovenia at NUTS 3 level.

The region, which was established in May 2005 for statistical purposes and to get no administrative tasks, including 1041 km ² with 73,400 people (2012 ). This statistical region coincides only partly with Slovenian parts of the former Duchy of Carinthia ( Slovenska Koroško ) and also includes areas that were once expected to Lower Styria, whereas the Jezersko statistics Carniola region was annexed.

The following seven municipalities in the historic Slovenian region Lower Styria ( Lower Styria ) were affiliated with the statistics Koroška: Slovenj Gradec, Radlje whether Dravi, Muta, Mislinja, Vuzenica, Podvelka and Ribnica na Pohorju.

From the historical region Carinthian Carinthian region remained in the statistics: Dravograd Ravne na Koroškem as the capital of the enlarged region, Prevalje, Mežica and Črna na Koroškem.

Neighboring regions are Savinjska and Podravsko, moreover, the region borders the Austrian provinces of Styria and Carinthia.
