Carlo Maciachini

Carlo Francesco Maciachini or Maciacchini ( born April 2, 1818 in Induno Olona, ​​Varese province, † June 10, 1899 in Varese ) was an Italian architect.

Life

Carlo Maciachini was born on April 2, 1818 in Induno Olona in the province of Varese. After his studies at the Accademia di Brera in Milan, he received a degree in architecture. Among his best-known project is one of the Monumental Cemetery in Milan (Cimitero Monumental ), which opened in 1866. He also designed a number of church building and was on the restoration of existing churches in Lombardy, involved in Veneto and Friuli -Venezia Giulia.

Carlo Maciachini died on June 10, 1899 in Varese. He was buried in Milan's Monumental Cemetery.

A station was opened in 2003 in the Milan subway system ( Metropolitana di Milano ) was named after him.
