Carlos Septién (footballer)

Carlos Septien González ( born January 18, 1923) is a former Mexican football player at the position of the striker.

Biography

Association

Its sporty Erstligalaufbahn began in the ancient Mexican Primera Fuerza at the Real Club España, for which he proved from 1942 went on Torjagd. There he stood until the withdrawal of the Españistas from the 1943/44, introduced professional league at the end of the season 1949/50, under contract. For the 1950/51 season Septien moved within the Mexican capital for CF Atlante before it a year later, he found himself in the port city of Tampico, where until at least 1954, he was proven to work for the CD Tampico.

National

His debut in the Mexican national was Septien on July 13, 1947 in a match against arch-rivals USA, which was won 5-0. His first international goal he scored four days later at his second against Cuba (3:1). His most successful international match was the 4-2 victory against Panama on April 10, 1952, when he succeeded equal to three hits. He had his last international match on January 14, 1954 as part of a World Cup qualifying game against the USA ( 3-1 ).

Highlights of his career were the international match appearances at the FIFA World Cups in 1950 and 1954, although it only in a championship game ( the 0-4 against hosts Brazil in the World Cup 1950) came into use.
