Caspar Frederik Harsdorff

Caspar Frederik Harsdorff ( born May 26, 1735 in Copenhagen, † May 24, 1799 in Frederiksberg ) was a Danish architect of classicism.

Life

Caspar Frederik Harsdorff studied at the French architect Nicolas -Henri Jardin at the newly founded Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Copenhagen ( Det Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts ), which was opened in 1754 in Charlotte Borg lock. In 1756 he was the first Dane to design a city gate, the Large Gold Medal of the Academy, which was connected to a six-year travel grant. So Harsdorff 1757 traveled to Paris, where he joined the XV.
