Joseph Christian Lillie
Joseph Christian Lillie ( born March 20, 1760 Copenhagen, † January 29, 1827 in Lübeck ) was an architect and interior designer from the Danish classicism.
Life
Joseph Christian Lillie was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Copenhagen as a student of Caspar Frederik Harsdorff. His classmate was Christian Frederik Hansen, with whom he remained on friendly terms even after graduation. 1790 Lillie took over the position of a Hofdekorateurs.
After the bankruptcy of his first successful cabinet making Lillie fled to Copenhagen from 1799 to the then Danish Schleswig -Holstein. Here his friend Hansen, who was master builder for Holstein and Altona / Elbe since 1784, when Baukondukteur ( construction supervisor ) employed him in his projects. Finally, Lillie was able to establish himself as an architect in the Free and Hanseatic City of Lübeck and temporarily exercise the authority of a city builder. He also worked as head of the local art school for artisans.
