Castellfollit de la Roca

Castellfollit de la Roca is a Catalan municipality in the province of Girona in northeastern Spain, with 1025 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

Location

The place is located in the comarca of Garrotxa on a more than fifty meters high rock solid basalt rock. The original appearance of a typical Catalan village, whose houses were built mainly of volcanic rocks from the surrounding area has remained largely intact.

Worth seeing

  • Located on the outer end of the village Viewpoint - Mirador - offers a view of the volcanic rock formations of the Garrotxa region.
  • The church of Sant Salvador in the 13th century, which is now used as a cultural center.
