CECAFA

The Council for East and Central Africa Football Association ( CECAFA; German Council of East and Central African Football Associations ) is a regional football association of the Confédération Africaine de Football. It is composed of eleven member associations from Eastern and Central Africa.

President is Kenyan Nicholas Musonye. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.

History

The CECAFA was established as the oldest Regional Football Federation of Africa 1927. The first competition was the 1926 aligned to 1966 under the name " Gossage Cup" and sponsored by the same Kenyan company. Since 1966 was named the Eastern and Central Africa championship East and Central African Senior Challenge Cup, rather it was renamed in 1973 in CECAFA Cup.
