Cédric Kanté

Cédric Kanté ( born July 6, 1979 in Strasbourg ) is a Malian football player with a French passport.

Career

Kanté began his career in 1996 with Racing Strasbourg, where he was brought into the first team in 1999. In the first season with the club they finished ninth in the league. In the second season it was 18 and got down from the highest French league, but you could win with a victory in the penalty shootout against SC Amiens the trophy. In 2001 he moved to FC Istres. There was the Malians at the end of the season with the men of Istres 17 in the second Bundesliga. Then again he changed and moved to Kanté ASOA Valence. When promoted to Ligue 2, he immediately became a regular player and was able to recommend a return to Racing Strasbourg. This return was followed by No. 13, 2003. According to the 13th and 11 followed in 2006 by the descent of the Ligue 1, with 2004/ 05, the French Ligacup was obtained, which brought Racing in the UEFA Cup. After the second descent he turned his back and went to Strasbourg OGC Nice. With a 16th place his further journey began in Nice, this was followed by an eighth and a ninth place in 2007/ 08 and 2008 /09.

2009 signed the defender to the Greek first division club Panathinaikos Athens.

Kanté participated in the Africa Cup of Nations 2008 in Ghana, Mali in part. There he was employed in all three group matches, but one was in the group behind the Ivory Coast and Nigeria only third and could not therefore qualify for the knockout phase. In Africa Championship 2012 Kanté Mali captained the bronze medal.
