Table and course of the season

And still unbeaten - - By the end of October, unanimously declared to be top favorites because of their high investment teams the Defender Paris and the riser Monaco together had set at the top. Only Lille with an almost insurmountable defenses goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama to ( his nine by then eleven games without conceding a goal ) had connection can keep them. Behind already ranked the other climber and Guingamp Nantes; however, was Lyon, which had always finished on the podium since 1998/99, with one exception ( 4th place 2011/12 ), at this time only in the lower middle. The relegation zone took Ajaccio, Sochaux, Valenciennes, which until now was only ever managed a victory. After completion of the first round, the particular configuration table had solidified on top and end, with Paris won the unofficial title of Autumn Champion and the " draw the kings " of Montpellier ( eleven draws in 19 matches ) increasingly found themselves in danger of relegation. During the first half of the season already have six teams, five of them out of the relegation zone, picked up the supposed "cure " of a trainer: Pablo Correa at Evian- TG, Daniel Sanchez at Valenciennes, Éric Hély in Sochaux, Fabrizio Ravanelli in Ajaccio, Jean Fernandez in Montpellier and Élie Baup in Marseille had to leave prematurely.

Since the back round start Paris has become clearly distinct from Monaco; Lille could no longer keep up and fought with a chasing group for third Champions League place for 2014/15 with both. Exciting it went to in the relegation zone, in the Valenciennes and Sochaux could make hopes to avoid relegation back to the Evian TG - after all, so far the only team that was able to defeat Paris - Rennes and had increasingly anxious.

To strength to the proposed 2014 introduction of a 75% "wealth tax " to protest the footballers would be affected with annual income of one million euros, the Union had Patronale the club Professionnel de Football ( UCPF ), the Association of French professional football clubs, decided, on the last weekend of November, 2013 to boycott the scheduled matches (15th matchday of Ligue 1 and 16th matchday of Ligue 2 ) complete, however this decision revised three weeks later and moved the action to a later date.
