Čelić

Čelić is a place and a federation of 13 municipalities of the canton of Tuzla in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. The community was separated shortly before the Bosnian war of Lopare and now belongs to the Federation, one of two entities in the country.

Geography

The community is located just north of the city of Tuzla between the Sava and the level Majevica mountains that reach heights of here. The main village is situated on the northeastern boundary of the municipality and is bounded on three sides by the Republika Srpska.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Čelić Brnjik, Čelić, Donji Humci, Drijenča, Gornji Humci, Nahvioci, Ratkovici, Šibošnica, Velino Selo and Vražići.

History

In 1991 joined the community Lopare to the Čelić and its districts were at that time, the so-called "Serbian Autonomous Region Semberija and Majevica ", which had been founded by nationalist Serb from Bijeljina and environment. The majority Muslim population of the western part of community Lopare then decided in November 1991 in a referendum for the secession of Lopare and the founding of the church Čelić. Population
