Cemil Çiçek

Cemil Çiçek (* November 15, 1946 in the village Musabeyli bogazi, Yozgat Province, Turkey) is a Turkish politician of the party, the AKP. From 2002 to 2007 held the posts of Minister of Justice Çiçek and the government spokesman, since August 2007 he has been Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State and since 2011 President of the Turkish Parliament.

Life

Cemil Çiçek was the eldest son of eleven children to the world. In the register of births was registered by his grandfather as Efendi Çiçek. After primary school, the first name in Cemil is changed. The elementary school he attended in the village primary school of Musabeyli bogazi, his home village. The middle school he attended in the provincial capital Yozgat is 21 km away. He then completed also there, the Imam Hatip High School. In 1965 he began studying law at the University of Istanbul. After he finished his studies in 1971, he worked as a lawyer until 1983.

Çiçek was in 1983 one of the 37 founders of the liberal conservative Anavatan Partisi ( ANAP ), which was the largest party in the same year with 45.14 % of the vote and then presented the government. Due to a veto of the National Security Çiçek was not allowed to put up for election. Çiçek was instead mayor in 1984 in Yozgat for the ANAP. 1987 Çiçek Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Family Affairs under Prime Minister Turgut Özal. He was also Minister Yıldırım Akbulut and Mesut Yılmaz below. In 1997 he left the ANAP and became a member of Fazilet. After this was banned in 2001, he moved to today's ruling Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi ( AKP).

Çiçek was Justice Minister in the Cabinet Gül and Erdoğan in the first Cabinet. Since 29 August 2007, he has been a member of the Second Erdoğan Cabinet of the AKP government under Erdogan, in which he is Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for coordinating the ministries, human rights and the Cyprus issue.

Çiçek is married and father of three children.
