Central Denmark Region

The Midtjylland Region ( German: Region Central Jutland ) in Denmark comprises the central part of Jutland. The region is inhabited an area of ​​13005.7 km ² of 1.27251 million inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). Capital is Viborg.

Formation

The regions dissolved in 2007, the Danish office districts ( Amtskommuner ) as administrative districts from. This Midtjylland emerged from the former offices Ringkjøbing Office and Århus Amt ( with the exception of a large part of Mariager Commune, went to the Mariagerfjord commune in the North Jutland ), the southeastern part of Viborg Office ( the rest of the office area also went to the region Nordjylland ), the former municipalities Brædstrup, Gedved Juelsminde, Nørre - Snede, Tørring - Uldum and the " old" Hedensted and the "old" Horsens municipality of Vejle Amt (the southern part of the Vejle Office went to the region Syddanmark ).

At the same time, the area of the region was divided randomly into two Landsdele and East Jutland West Jutland.
