Cep (Jindřichův Hradec District)

Cep ( German Trieschel ) is a municipality in Okres Jindřichův Hradec in the Czech Republic with about 200 inhabitants. It is located 26 kilometers south-east of the center of České Budějovice.

Geography

Cep is located in the plane of the Trebon Basin west of the Lainsitz. There are four large fish ponds in the area.

Neighboring towns are Branná in the north, Herda, Barbora and Majdalena in the northeast, and Benátky Suchdol nad Lužnicí the southeast, Cepska Myslivna in the south, Podřezanšká Basta and Lipnice in the west and Hrachoviště in the northwest.

History

Was first documented in 1404, the village, as Lauretius de Czepow was its owner. 1482 was the inclusion of Cep in the reign of Bistrita. Konrad Kraiger of Kraigk donated the surrounding land to the monastery Trebon and exchanged the place in 1508 with Peter IV of Rosenberg, who slammed him his Toeboo.
