Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province

Chahar Mahal and Bachtiyārī (Persian استان چهارمحال و بختياری ) is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. The capital is Shahr - e Kord.

In the province of 857 910 people ( 2006 census ). The area of ​​the province covers 16,332 square kilometers. The population density is 53 inhabitants per square kilometer. By 1953, Chahar Mahal and Bachtiyārī was a part of the province of Esfahan.

Geography

The Chahar Mahal and Bachtiyārī province is located in the southwestern inland and is surrounded by the provinces of Khuzestan, Kohkiluyeh and Buyer Ahmad and Esfahan.

Major cities are Shahr - e Kord, Schahrekian, Hafschejan, Borujen, Lordegan, Farsan, Ardal, Farrokhschahr, Naafch, Saman, Juneghan, Ben, Gandoman, Boldaji and Faradonbeh.
