ChalkZone
Chalk Zone - The magic chalk ( Switzerland: Rudi's magic chalk) is an American animated series from Nickelodeon. It was made by Frederator Studios and the Canadian animation company CINAR. The series draws loosely on the cartoon Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings from the year 1974.
Rudy, the main character finds one day a magic chalk that allows them to enter the magical chalk world behind the blackboard, where everything ends up that has ever been wiped from whiteboards, and in everything that you draw by magic chalk, comes to life. His secret, he just tells his friend Penny Sanchez. During the Cretaceous world, he meets each of the superhero from the planet snap snap. Together, they fight all kinds of monsters and many adventures.
The first season contained only six episodes that aired in 2002. The second season had more episodes and came from 2003 on TV. In Switzerland, the series ran in a Swiss German -dubbed version on SRF two. In the U.S., a soundtrack album for the series came out called In The Zone ( not to be confused with the eponymous album by Britney Spears).
Characters
- Rudy Tabootie is a small, shy boy from Plainville, a fictional city. In the Chalk zone it grows beyond itself and is regularly a hero, mainly thanks to his great talent for drawing.
- Snap is a midget superhero from the planet snap and has long been a popular character motif of Rudy. Thanks to the magic chalk he was alive and has since also Rudy's best friend. Snap is fearless and heroic, but always friendly.
- Penny Sanchez is the best friend of Rudy. It is the mathematical genius of their class and Rudy can often help to solve problems as they is a lot more reasonable and deliberate than he. Besides Rudy, it is the only real person who comes to Chalk Zone.
- Joe Tabootie is Rudy's father, a tall, friendly butcher. He does not understand why his son so very excited for painting, I would prefer him if he would butcher later. But he likes his son that way.
- Mildred Tabootie is the thick mother of Rudy. She is the editor of the gossip column and a fun-loving, exuberant person.
- Thug Schmitt is the rowdy school and goes with Rudy and Penny in the same class. He annoys especially Rudy, Penny and others weaker. He calls Rudy always Cartoony.
- Horace T. Wilter is the class teacher of Rudy's class. He is severe, choleric, and has an almost pathological hatred for cartoons.
