Charlotte Purdue
Charlotte Purdue (born 10 June 1991 Windsor ) is a British long-distance runner.
Purdue was discovered at the age of eleven years at a regional cross country coach from Mick Woods and then joined the Athletics Club at Aldershot. In youth they first celebrated numerous successes at national level. At 15, she participated in the World Cross Country Championships in 2007 and took part in Mombasa in Juniorinnnenrennen as best european 15th Place. In the same year she became. In 2008, Purdue proved their skills in cross-country running. In the junior class, it reached at the Cross Country Championships in Edinburgh on the 16th place and won at the European Championships in Brussels the silver medal. The following year she was at the Cross Country Championships in Amman Fourteenth. At the Track European Junior Championships in Novi Sad it secured over 5000 m in second place. They also won the British Championships in the 10-kilometer road race.
After a lengthy knee injury she had sustained the end of 2009, Purdue returned in the summer of 2010, again in the competition running back and was British champion in the 5000 m. At the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, she completed the age of 19 her first major international championships in the adult area. There, she won the 10,000 m and the fourth in the 5000m in sixth place. In the European Cross Country Championships in Albufeira, she started again in the junior race and secured it superior to the gold medal.
At the World Cross Country Championships 2011 in Punta Umbria Purdue finished 14th place as the best European. The following month, she won the Great Ireland Run, and in the fall, she finished fourth at the Great South Run.
