Charterhouse of Aula Dei
The Charterhouse Aula Dei is a Carthusian monastery, about 10 km north of the city of Zaragoza, located in the Spanish province of Aragon.
History
The Charterhouse was founded in 1563 by Hernando of Aragon.
Painting
The Charterhouse is particularly famous for the paintings of Francisco de Goya. Goya created religious frescoes depicting the life of the Mother of God.
Change at the Chemin Neuf Community
During the year 2012, the Carthusians leave the monastery. The Spiritual Chemin Neuf Community, the monastery buildings relate and grant access to the famous paintings.
