Château Le Pin

Château Le Pin is a small vineyard in Pomerol, the wine area in Bordeaux to Bordeaux in southwest France.

History

In 1924, Madame Loubie earned a small vineyard. The estate included until 1979 only a single hectare. After the death of Madame Loubie it was purchased by the family Thienpont, which also includes the neighboring Château Vieux certan heard. 1984 were purchased 0.3 ha, and in 1985 the estate grew by a further 0.65 ha Instead of the vineyards to the Vieux Château certan add, the new owners decided to make the " Le Pin " a new premium wine. The wine

The only " Le Pin " called wine of the estate is one of the most expensive red wines in the world. A bottle of vintage 1990 for example, costs at least 1,000 € - if you can buy it at all. Production

The outstanding quality thanks to the " Le Pin " especially two facts: Firstly, it has one of the best terroirs of the plateau of Pomerol, lehmdurchsetzter gravel on ferruginous limestone bedrock ( " Crasse de Fer" ).
