Chelsea College of Arts

The Chelsea College of Art and Design is an art college in London's Chelsea, which belongs to the University of the Arts London and has emerged from the Chelsea School of Art. The Chelsea College of Art and Design was created from several London schools.

1895 in Chelsea, the South - Western Polytechnic founded on the primarily scientific and technical subjects in day and evening classes were taught. In addition, art, crafts and music were offered. In 1964, the Chelsea School of Art merged with the Faculty of Fine Arts Chelsea Polytechnic and founded a "new" Chelsea School of Art, which was integrated into the 1986 London Institute and renamed in 1989 in Chelsea College of Art and Design. In 2004, the London Institute to university status and was renamed University of the Arts London.
