Cheng Chemin
Cheng Chemin (Chinese郑哲敏, Pinyin Zheng Zhemin; * 1924), is a Chinese physicist who specializes in explosion mechanics.
Biography
Cheng comes from Yin County (now Yinzhou District ) in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, and was born in Jinan of Shandong Province. He received in 1947 a Bachelor of Science from Tsinghua University. He received his master of science and doctorate at the California Institute of Technology.
Cheng was the former Director General of the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences ( CAS) and former president of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. Chemin was the former chief editor of the Chinese Journal of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics.
