Chiisagata District, Nagano

Chiisagata -gun (Japanese小 県 郡) is a county ( gun) in Nagano Prefecture on the main Japanese island of Honshu. It has an area of 241.04 km ² and 11,544 inhabitants (as of 1 February 2010). Thus, it has a population density of 47.9 inhabitants. / Km ². Currently, he owns the town ( machi ) Nagawa and with the village ( mura ) Aoki at only two municipalities.

History

Chiisagata -gun was established as a modern administrative unit on January 14, 1879 the establishment of a county government ( gun'yakusho ). The administrative headquarters was located in Ueda. On April 1, 1889 " Local System" ( chōsonsei ) was established. After that belonged Chiisagata -gun three cities and 32 villages. On 30 October 1912, the village became a town Maruko, which Chiisagata -gun now four cities and 31 villages belonged.

On May 1, 1919 Ueda was a major city ( shi ) and thus no longer belonged to Chiisagata -gun. Until the 50s, the number of municipalities in Chiisata -gun did not decrease significantly. 1950 belonged to him in three cities and 29 villages.
