China Development Bank

China Development Bank (CDB ) is a state-owned enterprise of the People's Republic of China, based in Beijing. The company was founded in 1994. The company is managed since 1998 by the Chinese politician Chen Yuan.

The company financed in large infrastructure projects such as the Three Gorges Dam, and the Shanghai Pudong Airport. The Government of the People's Republic of China shall be liable for loans from the CDB. The company employs approximately 3,500 employees (as of end of 2004).

China grants more than the China Development Bank and loans to countries such as Venezuela, Brazil, India, Ghana and Argentina, often to secure future supplies of raw materials. Due to the high international reserves from export which also State Export-Import Bank of China and the CDA were together in the years 2009 and 2010 with more than 100 billion U.S. dollars before the multilateral acting World Bank, the largest lender to developing countries.
