Chingford Stables

The Chingford Stables is a historic building in North East Valley Dunedin in New Zealand. The in Neo-Gothic style built of basalt stables are classified under number 2146 as a Category I Historic Place by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust. The two-storey building with 6 gables was stylistically matched to the corresponding wooden residential buildings.

The interior was changed greatly, an external staircase at the back added and the stained glass windows replaced with painted wood panels.

They were in 1872 for the businessman Dunediner PC Neill built and housed the horses of Dunediner businessmen. Neill took advantage of the stable from about 1872 until 1937. The barn is now used for private and public events.

The stall is located in the eponymous Chingford Park, which also houses the Cross Country Club of Leith Valley, the Archery Club of Dunedin, a children's playground and a permanent orienteering trail are. This area was also Neill's property.
