The Chinggis Khaan International Airport is the international airport of the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar in Bujant Uchaa.

Description

The airport is about 15 kilometers from the center of Ulaanbaatar. The airport is set to the marketing of the types of aircraft. It has a paved runway and a Notlandebahn rolled on earth. History

In collaboration with two Japanese consulting company was started with the plans for a new airport. It arises in Khoshigt Valley, this is near Zuunmod, about 50 km southwest of Ulaanbaatar. Upon completion of the construction plans in late 2009 tenders were made in 2010. The construction started in 2012 and should be completed in 2015. Part of the cost will be covered by a loan from the Japan International Cooperation Bank in the amount of $ 290 million.

Airlines

The airport is the hub of the charter airline Blue Sky Aviation, the Eznis Airways and Aero Mongolia. He also is used by the following international airlines: MIAT, Aeroflot, Air China, Korean Air and JAL.
