Chminianske Jakubovany

Chminianske Jakubovany (1927-1948 Slovak " Nemecké Jakuboviany " - to 1927 " Nemecké Jakubovany " or " Jakuboviany "; German Jakobsdorf or German - Jakobsdorf, Hungarian Jakabvágás - to 1902 Németjakabvágás ) is a city and a municipality in eastern Slovakia, with a population of 1953 (as of 31 December 2011). It is located in Okres Prešov, Prešov Region of a circle.

Geography

The municipality is located in the highlands highlands Šarišská the creek Jakubovianka. The center is located at an altitude of 443 m nm and is located 19 km west of Prešov.

History

The town was founded in the early 14th century and 1334 is in a deed as Jacabuagasa for the first time in writing. The village originally belonged to the estate of Svinia to later generations as Perényi, Hedry, Péchy and more. 1427 recorded 30 Porta. 1828 there were 70 houses and 535 inhabitants in the village, who were employed as farmers, fruit brandy and carters. Part of the population has also worked in factories in the surrounding towns. After the expulsion of the last German population after 1945, the place name was changed in 1948 due to the proximity to Chmiňany in Chminianske Jakubovany.

The proportion of Gypsies (Roma) is significantly higher in reality, as the 1991 census ( 50.44 % of 1,130 inhabitants) or statistics on the official site of the municipality: 2,036 inhabitants, of whom about 1,579 Roma in the local gypsy settlement. According to the municipality, however, due to lack of reports of temporary or permanent residence can no exact statistics are produced.
