Christian Benteke
Christian Benteke ( born December 3, 1990 in Kinshasa ) is a Belgian footballer. He is now the Premier League club Aston Villa under contract and is active in the Belgian national team.
Career
In the club
Benteke began at the age of six years at Jeunesse Sportive Pierreuse - which has its abode in the homonymous district of Liege - to play at club level football. After eight years, he finally went to the youth department of the neighboring first division club Standard Liege. He remained there two years and then moved to KRC Genk in which he belonged to the senior squad in his second year. So he was already at the age of 17 years, made his debut in the Belgian first division in the game against VV St. Truiden. Later in the season he came to re- brief appearances, but remained in the following season only reservist. Therefore he returned to Standard Liege back, scored three goals in nine games there and was at the end of the season Belgian champion. However, in order to permanently get enough match practice Liege initially lent him to KV Kortrijk and then to the KV Mechelen. After the end of the respective lending, he denied each a few brief appearances for Standard, but was eventually released again at the KRC Genk. With the then reigning champion, he played in the Champions League and retired there in the group stage as Table from. In the league, he qualified with Genk but again for the international competition. In the Europa League and the League he came for Genk still used, but moved before the closure of the transfer window to England Aston Villa. In sinem first match for Villa on Matchday 4 of the 2012/13 season against Swansea City he scored the 2-0 winning goal.
In the National Team
With the U-17 selection, he took part in the 2007 U-17 European Championship on home country and reached the semi-finals to eventual winners Spain; his only goal he scored in the match against Iceland. Following this, the U- 17 World Cup was held in South Korea a little later. He resigned from Belgium in the group stage and shot one of only three goals of the Belgians. He then played for another U- national teams, took with them but to no longer participate in the tournament. His debut in the senior team, he was on 19 May 2010 in the match against Bulgaria when he came on in the 65th minute for Romelu Lukaku. In 2010 he played then two more matches and then came in 2012 and again on international duty.
