Christian Gottlob Wilke

Christian Gottlob Wilke ( born May 13, 1786 in Werm in Zeitz, † November 10, 1854, also Christian Gottlieb Wilke ) was a German theologian.

Wilke studied philosophy and theology in Leipzig. In 1814 he was chaplain at the Saxon Landwehr, later pastor in Hermann village in the Erzgebirge. From 1838 he worked in Dresden, among others, at his Dictionary of the New Testament. 1846 Wilke converted to the Catholic faith. He received his doctorate in Freiburg. In Würzburg he revised his two major works ( Clavis Novi Testamenti philo logica and Lexicon ) from a Catholic perspective.
