The Chūō Expressway (Japanese中央 自动 车道, Chūō Jidōshadō ) is an important east - west highway in Japan and crosses the main Japanese island of Honshu Suginami to Komaki and meets here on the Tomei Expressway. Its course follows this substantially to the National Highway 19 and 20

On December 2, 2012 at Otsuki crashed the ceiling of the tunnel Sasago to about 50 to 60 meters in length and buried several vehicles among themselves, a fire broke out. There were several deaths and injuries.
