Church of Christ (Restored)

The Restored Church of Christ, Church of Christ ( Restored ), is a Mormon community of faith that in 1939 in the United States under the leadership of AC DeWolf of the Church of Christ ( Fetting ) seceded. It is headquartered in Independence, Missouri and is represented exclusively in the USA.

The Restored Church of Christ has around 450 members, most of whom live in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi.

History

WA Draves, an elder of the Church of Christ in 1929 incurred ( Fetting ), reported in 1936, as well as the founder of the church, who in 1933 died in Otto Fetting to have revelations from John the Baptist received. The church members who do not believe, left, under the leadership of Elder AC DeWolf the church and founded the Restored Church of Christ, Church of Christ ( Restored ). Of these, most were living in the southern U.S., where DeWolf in 1936 had successfully evangelized. Although the Church of Christ ( Fetting ) 1943, proclaimed by Draves revelations eventually rejected, both churches were not back together. For final break came in 1956, when at the instigation of the Apostle ST Bronson in the Church of Christ ( Fetting ) was introduced Saturday as the Sabbath.

Teaching and organization

The Restored Church of Christ teaches that it is only founded by Otto Fetting true church and Sunday is the day of the Lord. That the Church of Christ ( Fetting ), from which it has separated in 1939, the Sabbath sanctifies, one sees as proof that this church has strayed from the true path. Apart from the belief in the 30 revelations received Otto Fetting, the teaching of the Restored Church of Christ is identical with the doctrine of the Church of Christ (Temple Lot). Polygamy, dead baptism and the " seal of marriages " and the belief in the evolution of man into a god will be rejected. The Restored Church of Christ also rejects the Office of the President, so it is managed by a Council of the Twelve Apostles (Quorum of the Twelve Apostles ), whose members have equal rights. The offices of the First Presidency or of high priests also does not know. There are annual conferences of churches in Independence or in other places. The Church teaches that on the Temple Lot in Independence called plot a temple will be built, but in which the Latter-day Saints and the Community of Christ will be different from the temples of the Church of Jesus Christ.

Writings

The Restored Church of Christ rejects the books Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith also wrote the inspired Bible. They used the King James Bible instead of Mormon and published by the Community of Christ version of the book. The received 30 of Otto Fetting revelations are in the book The Word of the Lord ( The Word of the Lord ) summarized. Monthly church newspaper, The Gospel Herald appears.
