Číčenice

Číčenice until 1923 Číčenice ( German Čičenitz, 1939-1945 Zitschenitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers east of Vodňany in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Strakonice. Číčenice is a railway junction.

Geography

Číčenice is located in the southern part of the Písecká pahorkatina ( Písecké hill country). The village is located on the right side of the creek Bily Potok in the valley of its tributary creek Číčenický. To the north rises the Číčenice ( 449 m), in the northeast of Chocholouš ( 523 m ) east of the Nuzová (437 m) and to the south the Kravi hora (435 m). To the south are the ponds Strpský rybnik and Mlýnský fishpond, fishpond southwest of Dřemlinský. 700 m west of the village runs the railway line České Budějovice, Plzeň, south of the railway line Číčenice - Tyn nad Vltavou. History

Archaeological finds evidence of a settlement of the area since the Bronze Age.

The first written mention of the village was 1335. During the reign of King George of Podiebrad took place on July 20, 1468 at the Kravi hora a battle between the troops of the king and the Green Alliance Berger.

In 1840 Čičenitz consisted of 36 houses with 249 inhabitants. In each case 18 houses belonging to the reign Protiwin or to rule Fraunberg. In Protiwiner share was an inn. Vicarage was Protiwin. Until the mid- 19th century the village between the Allodialherrschaft Protiwin together with the Fideikommissgut Radomielitz and the rule Fraunberg remained divided.

After the abolition of patrimonial Číčenice / Čičenitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Pisek and the jurisdiction Vodňany. Between 1868 and 1870 established the k.k. privileged Kaiser Franz Joseph Railway, the railway České Budějovice, Plzeň. 1893 traffic on the route Číčenice - Prachatice was taken, it was extended in the early 20th century to the Bavarian Haidmuehle. The official place name Číčenice is used since 1924. In 1949 the parish was assigned to the Okres Vodňany, after its repeal she came to the beginning of 1961 to Okres Strakonice. Strpí and Újezdec were incorporated in 1961. The existing railway line since 1898 Tyn nad Vltavou - Újezdec was extended between 1986 and 1989 because of the nuclear power plant construction in Temelín until after Číčenice.
