Bankstown is part of the metropolis of Sydney, capital of New South Wales. The area is 77 km ² in size and has about 182,000 inhabitants.

Bankstown is located about 17 km south-west of the center of Sydney north of the foothills of the Botany Bay. The area includes 37 districts: Bankstown, Bankstown Aerodrome, Bankstown Airport, Bankstown East, Bankstown North, Bankstown South, Bankstown Square, Bankstown West, Bass Hill, Birrong, Chester Hill, Chullora, Condell Park, East Hills, Georges Hall, Lansdowne, Leightonfield, Manahan, Milperra, Mount Lewis, Padstow, Padstow Heights, Panania, Picnic Point, Potts Hill, Revesby, Revesby Heights, Revesby North, Yagoona, Yagoona West, and parts of Greenacre, Old Guildford, Punchbowl, Regents Park, Sefton, Strathfield South and Villawood. The seat of the City Council is located in the Bankstown district in the center of the LGA.

Management

The Bankstown City Council has twelve members who are elected by the residents of the four Wards (three councilor from North, East, West and South Ward). These four districts are set independently of the districts. From the circle of Councillor also the Mayor ( Mayor ) of the Council recruited.
