Monash but also a large share of industry. Engineering, chemical and printing industries are predominant here.

The Clayton campus is the largest location of Monash University with its own particle accelerator, the Australian Synchrotron with a 216 m long storage ring.

Oakleigh has a larger community of Greek immigrants from the mid-20th century.

The Olympic skating center of Melbourne is located in Oakleigh South district.

Management

The Monash City Council has eleven members who are elected by the residents of the four Wards (three Councillor from Mount Waverley, Mulgrave and Oakleigh, two from Glen Waverley ).
