History

1788 the first settlement in what is now the city of Parramatta was founded. 1855 was built between Sydney and Parramatta, the first railway line of New South Wales. Today's suburb of Sydney at that time was an important center of agriculture. 1861 was the place the status of a municipality. 1867 Borough of Parramatta was founded in 1938 and got the municipality awarded city rights.
