Claes Tholin
Claes Emil Tholin ( born October 22, 1860 in Södra Säm, Älvsborgs County, † 1927) was a Swedish politician and from 1896 to 1907 the first chairman of the Swedish Social Democrats.
Tholin learned at the age of 10 years, the profession of a tailor. From 1880 he lived in Copenhagen and arrived there first with trade union and socialist ideas in contact. He became a member of the Schneider trade union and socialist youth clubs " Karl -Marx- Club". He returned back to Sweden in 1890 and participated in the construction of the Swedish Social Democrats.
