Clan Fergusson
Fergusson or Ferguson is the name of a Scottish clan whose members are spread all over Scotland.
History
The original son of Fergus, the progenitor of Fergusson's also the name of the dates is unknown, but with time Kilkerran sat in Ayrshire as a central place of the clan through. The Fergusson could never actually some by their dispersal towards a common goal and are therefore less for military achievements known, but still brought some well-known personalities out, including Robert Fergusson, a poet of the Scottish national poet Robert Burns inspired, or Adam Ferguson, philosopher.
The motto of the clan is Dulcius ex asperis ( "Sweeter after difficulty ").
