Clopton Havers
Clopton Havers (* 1657 in Stambourne, Essex, † April 29, 1702 ) was an English physician and anatomist.
Life
Clopton Havers gained fame through his pioneering work in the field of micro- structures of bones. He was according to the present knowledge of the first author who described the so- named after him Haversian canals and the so-called Sharpey's fibers. After Havers are yet to be named: Haversian glands, bone lamellae and Haversian columns.
In 1685 he was ( Breathing ) in Utrecht doctoral thesis on the topic De Respiratione.
