Cole Konrad

Cole Konrad ( born April 2, 1984 in Appleton, Wisconsin ) is a former American professional wrestler and current mixed martial arts fighter. He was Pan-American Champion 2005 in free style at heavyweight.

Career

Cole Konrad attended a high school in New London, where he began wrestling at a young age. He later moved to the Freedom High School in Freedom, where he continued to operate this sport and also began with the American Football. He struggled initially in two styles, the Greco-Roman and free style. In 2002, as a high school wrestler champion of Wisconsin at heavyweight. He was also in this year of U.S. junior champion in both the free and in the Greco- Roman style in the heavyweight division.

As of 2003, Cole Konrad studied at the University of Minnesota. He was there with the so-called " Golden Gophers ", the wrestler Club this university. His coach was there J. Robinson. In 2004 he won at the NCAA Championships (USA Student Cup) in free style in the heavyweight division the 4th Place. In 2005, he came forward to the 2nd place and in 2006 he won this title with a remarkable victory over Steve Mocco. Finally, he won this championship also in 2007.

In 2005, the burly and powerful wrestler started his international career. He was here in Guatemala City Pan-American heavyweight champion before Yonsy Sanches from Venezuela and the multiple medalist at the World Championships Alexis Rodríguez Valera from Cuba. In 2006, Cole Konrad trying to qualify for the World Cup, but finished in the U.S. excretion ( Trials ) behind Tolly Thompson and Steve Mocco but only the 3rd place. But in the same year he won a bronze medal at the Universities World Cup in Ulaanbaatar in the heavyweight division.

In 2007, Cole Konrad American vice-champion in the heavyweight behind Thomas Rowlands, but before Steve Mocco and Tervel Dlagnev. Cole Konrad, which ended in 2007, his studies with a Masters Degree in Sport Management and after removal of a scholarship faced economic problems, nor participated in 2008 at the Olympic Trials, but was there no longer in shape and already retired from the previous round.
