Coleford Railway

The Coleford Railway was a British railway company in Gloucestershire in England.

The Company received on 18 July 1872, the law a railway line from Coleford after Wyesham to build on Wye opposite of Monmouth on the track bed of the Monmouth Railway. The construction of a branch line from the Severn and Wye Railway by Lydbrook and an economic crisis caused the urgency of the railway construction into the background. On June 30, 1874, the Great Western Railway took over the concession. On September 1, 1883 8.5 km long line was put into operation.

The GWR took over 7 August 1884, the Coleford Railway. The passenger was discontinued on 1 January 1917 and freight traffic on 11 August 1967.
