Collarada

The Collarada is a summit of the Pyrenees in Spain and has a height of 2886 m. It is located in the municipality in the province of Huesca Villanúa the Aragon region. He is the highest mountain in the comarca ( county, district) Jacetania and because of its wide visibility of the most stunning Pyrenean peaks.

The Collarada belongs to the interior mountains of the Pyrenees and is part of the Circo de Ip ( a summit circle ), in the middle is the glacial lake of Ip.

The mountain consists of limestone, which leads through time, glaciation and water mean that has formed in it a complex karst system of caves, holes and pits and through the water, which acts in the form of rivers, lakes and through seepage on them further changed.

Within the karst formations of Collarada especially the tourist cave in Las Güixas are ( " grutas viejas " = old caves ), the Cándalo source that Vernero Pit and the hells ( infierno ) - or Buxaquera - trove of importance. The latter is located in 2500 m height and has a depth of 714 m.
