Collegio Borromeo

The Collegio Borromeo is a student boarding school in Pavia. It was 1561 by Charles Borromeo (Italian: Carlo Borromeo ) founded and is the oldest operating Collegio Italy dar.

Charles Borromeo wanted to help with the establishment of the Collegio especially poorer students who do not have sufficient funds for a study stay in Pavia.

The Collegio Borromeo, like the other famous historical Collegio in Pavia, the Collegio Ghislieri, by the Ministry of Education, University and Research recognized as an institution of high cultural capabilities.

Among the famous people who have lived while studying in Collegio Borromeo include, among others, the historian, philosopher and politician Giuseppe Ferrari, the doctor Carlo Forlanini, the philosopher Emanuele Severino, or mathematician Gaspare Mainardi.
