coloRadio

ColoRadio is a free radio in Dresden, which sends since 8 July 1993. Operations, the radio is on the radio initiative Dresden eV as a self- managed project. coloRadio is member of the Bundesverband Freier Radios.

Program

The broadcasting time is at coloRadio of the four drafting groups " Art & Culture", " magazine ", " Music " and "politics" filled. This editorial groups are comparable with the departments of professional transmitter and turn consist of individual editors. There are also free airtime can also be short-term occupied by newcomers. Each editorial acts autonomously. The only guideline are the principles of a free radio. There is no chief and no editorial director. Editorial decisions, such as Airtime distribution or inclusion of new editors to be taken at the monthly and public drafting group meeting or on the monthly and total public editorial meeting. For non editorial Elle decisions, the monthly club assemblies are responsible.

Members of the drafting groups, the individual editors who shape the respective programs. Exist as a non-commercial radio, the individual editors largely journalistic laymen whose advantage, however, which in part deep roots in the local political or cultural scene. That is why the programs are often technically improved without, however demanding.

In coloRadio editorial work is not paid. Thus, the substantive independence of editors is to be maintained by donors.

ColoRadio sees itself as Dresdner local stations, but who maintains a lively exchange with other radios at home and abroad. For this, use is made of the official exchange shipment portal of the Association of Free Radios.

Reception

8 July 1993 to 28 February 2007 sent coloRadio four hours a week on Thursday from 20:00 to 24:00 clock at 100.2 MHz, a 5 -kilowatt frequency, otherwise Energy Saxony sent on. A more than ten years of litigation brought about a broadcast time extension to 49 hours a week, but with much lower transmission power.

Since March 1, 2007 coloRadio is

  • Monday to Friday from 18:00 bis 23:00 clock clock and
  • Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 clock to 24:00 clock

On FM on the frequencies:

  • 98.4 MHz ( TV channels Gompitz, 50 watts) and
  • 99.3 MHz ( TV channels Freital, 100 watts)

To receive. Outside these times, these broadcasting frequencies of Apollo Radio be used. The transmitter power is quite low, so that coloRadio is not well received in all parts of Dresden and Freital. Alternatively, there is a live stream as MP3 or Ogg Vorbis or AAC.

April 17 to 13, 2010 coloRadio was to receive only as live stream.
