Columbia International University is a private Christian university in Columbia (South Carolina) in the United States. The university is known for its emphasis on spiritual personality development, biblical authority and world evangelization.

History

The Columbia International University was founded in 1923 as Columbia Bible School. The original purpose was to offer a two-year Bible course employees of Christian communities. In 1927 it was decided to convert the school into a Bible college and deliver the Bachelor of Arts in Bible studies. Initially, the college had its office in the City of Columbia. 1960 moved into the strong growth in the current college campus in a suburb. In the 1960s, Robertson McQuilkin, the son of the first Rector, Rector and the name of the institution to Columbia Bible College and Seminary was changed. In 1994 it became the Columbia International University.
