Comoros national football team

The Comoro national football team is the national team of the African island nation of Comoros.

The Comoros are a member of the CAF and since 2005 a member of FIFA since 2003. Their first official FIFA international match graduated from the team on December 14, 2006 in Sanaa, Yemen against. However, the first unofficial game was already on 26 August 1979 in Réunion to Mauritius instead and ended 0:3.

The Comoros at the Football World Cup

For the first time the national team took part in the Comoros in the qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa in an official FIFA tournament. On 14 October 2007, it was subject to Madagascar at the Stade Municipal de Mahamasina in Antananarivo with 2:6. The two goals scored Daoud Midtadi and Ibor Bakar. The return match on November 17 at the Stade de Beaumer in Moroni also ended with a clear defeat, this time 0-4. Thus, the team was eliminated in the first round of the Africa zone.

World Cup

In qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil, the Comoros met initially in return game to Mozambique. Both games were lost, so that the Comoros were eliminated.
