Constrictor (album)

Constrictor is the 16th studio album by Alice Cooper, and was released on 22 September 1986. As a producer acted Beau Hill. For the album Cooper took the guitarist Kane Roberts on board who wrote the songs with him and accompanied him on the following tours. Constrictor can be viewed as comeback album, as Cooper had gotten almost completely from the music business after his successful withdrawal in September 1983 and did not resume songs or touring and it is better positioned in the charts than the previous three albums.

Became famous for the album mainly by the song He's Back ( The Man Behind the Mask ) used as the theme song for the movie Friday the 13th Part VI - Jason lives was used.

Charts and reception

Constrictor was not able to place in the charts in Germany. In the United States it reached # 59 in the UK, both the album at number 41 and the single from the He's Back ( The Man Behind the Mask ) were able to position number 61. In Sweden, the single was a Top 10 hit, reaching number four and stayed eight weeks on the charts, while the album peaked at number 17.

Barry Weber of Allmusic awarded for Constrictor 3 of 5 stars. The album was the best work Coopers for years. Although none of the songs come closer to those of its heyday in the 1970s, yet the songs Simple Disobedience and Teenage Frankenstein were emphasized as a positive surprise.
