Corby

Corby is an industrial town about 14 kilometers north of Kettering in Northamptonshire, England. The city has about 55,000 inhabitants. Only in 1950 was granted the city rights Corby.

1931 Corby was a small village of about 1,500 inhabitants, before there mid-1930s, the steel plant Stewards & Lloyds (later British Steel ) and settled there attracted many workers from Scotland and Ireland. That is the reason why today many people in Corby speak with a Scottish accent. The steel factory became the second largest of its kind in Europe and the population of Corby rose rapidly.

However, after 1980, the steel industry became less important and the work had to be closed in 1981. A branch of the Food Group Weetabix today stands at this point. There is also the Rockingham Motor Speedway, an elliptical race track, the only one of its kind in the UK, on the / hour was achieved with a Ford Cosworth speed record of 210 miles. In a court case, it was confirmed that it has come through the legacy of Corby to embryonic development damage.

On Mars, there is a crater named after the city.
