Corrachadh Mòr

Corrachadh Mòr is a small hill at the end of a promontory on the Ardnamurchan, Scotland peninsula. It lies just south of the Point of Ardnamurchan, and is known as the most westerly point of Britain. There, take the southern coastline of the peninsula, which runs on Loch Sunart and the Sound of Mull, on the northern coastline, which runs parallel to the islands of Skye, Muck, Eigg and Rum.

Depending on which coordinates are used, is Corrachadh Mòr 30.78 meters or 42.81 meters further west than the Point of Ardnamurchan. This is sometimes viewed incorrectly as the most westerly point of the British mainland.

The name comes from the Corrachadh Mòr Scottish Gaelic. Corrachadh is another spelling for the word comharrachadh (English: Marking, distinguishing ). Mor means great; an analogous German translation is: great indicator.
